Each skein is hand-dyed directly onto the beautiful, creamy bare wool. The dyeing technique is a style which, when knitted, creates a different colour every few stitches and repeats this randomly. BFL is very soft on the skin, yet because of the fleece having a long staple length, it's hard wearing and naturally resistant to pilling. I hand-dye most of my colourways in unique, one-of-a-kind batches. Even my repeatable colourways are hand-dyed in small batches of 5 skeins because of my fastidious quality control methods. I put only one batch into the shop at a time, so please make sure you buy enough yarn to complete your intended project.\r\n\r\nThis BFL\/Nylon 'Hedgerow' is a sumptuous, smooth, soft, yet strong yarn that's perfect for socks. Of course, my BFL\/Nylon 'Hedgerow' is also great for larger garments and knits up beautifully for shawls, cowls, mittens and scarves. All of my BFL is from small, well-managed British farms. These farms adhere to high animal welfare standards and spun in British mills.\r\n
