Hello! I’m so pleased you’ve found me and hope you’ll take the time to get to know a little about me.

I’m Kerry, an English woman living in France and the owner/hand-dyer/designer at ‘Mille Rêves en Laine’. During what I refer to as ‘The Covid Years’ and following some very difficult events in our lives, myself and my husband, Spencer, decided to move permanently to our family home in France. I’ve been living here in the Charente department, with my husband Spencer and our three dogs since late 2021.

Here, we’ve been able to recover a little, set about re-thinking our lifestyle and are now forging a fresh start for ourselves. Part of this new start involves the birth of ‘Mille Rêves en Laine’, which is run along similar lines as my previous business in Leicestershire, England, (Hummingbird Yarns), but registered as a ‘French Artisanal Enterprise’.

I’ve been hand-dyeing wool professionally since 2017 and designing knitwear since 2019, I absolutely love my work: it’s my dream job, with my life filled with colour, texture and woolly goodness every day! My main interest is in creating unique colour mixes from primary-colour dyes. This means that all of the colours I use on the skeins you buy are unique. Of course, I love to use colour and texture in my knitwear designs too.

I am environmentally aware and try to limit any potential negative impact on the planet, its people and other animals. So, from sourcing my raw materials right through to the packaging I use, I make business decisions based on animal and human welfare, and on their environmental impact.

I hope you’ve got to know a bit about me and Mille Reves en Laine. I look forward to inspiring you and fulfilling your dreams in wool.
