The East Beach Shawl knitting pattern is from my range of skill-building knitwear designs for knitters looking for a stress-free way to build on their current knitting skills. Designed to guide you through your first crescent-shaped shawl and/or your first lace edging. Written in my ‘Tutorial Style’, the pattern has lots of detail – you really can’t get lost! There are even tick-lists for tracking progress and links to YouTube videos when needed. You can knit the shawl on a pair of long needles, but a set of circular needles will be much more comfortable for you – they are kinder to your wrists and the weight of the shawl will be in your lap, not carried by your hands.

The PDF pattern is downloadable on payment.

East Beach Shawl Knitting Pattern

The East Beach Shawl knitting pattern is from my range of Skill-building knitwear designs. I design the range for knitters looking for a stress-free way to build on their current knitting skills and write the patterns in my 'Tutorial Style'. They have lots of detail – you really can’t get lost!

The East Beach Shawl knitting pattern is for 'good' to 'intermediate' knitters. You will be guided through knitting your first crescent-shaped shawl and maybe even your first lace knitting at the same time. It has simple 'Yarn Over' eyelets in the main body and a simply made lace border. You will already: have worked a simple cast-on and cast-off; be able to knit and purl well; have used 'Yarn Overs' in your knitting. Everything else: the specific cast-on and cast-off for this shawl; the lace section at the bottom of the shawl and washing and blocking after casting off, are all explained clearly in the knitting pattern - both in words and through links to videos.

The lace represents the froth and ripples of waves breaking on the beach. It's an easy lace to knit, with obvious stitches in the lace that line up and show you that you are still following the pattern correctly. The pattern has separate sections for each step of the knitting process, so you'll understand which part you are knitting and why. You'll also know exactly where you are as you knit. There are tick-lists for tracking every row and links to YouTube videos when needed.

A very clear 'Abbreviations' section guides you through the stitches needed.

The East Beach Shawl knitting pattern is downloadable as a PDF on payment, but you can take as long as you Like to download it.
If you prefer a Word document version, please let me know after purchase.

The East Beach Shawl

The East Beach Shawl is a knit in 4 Ply / Fingering / Sock Yarn, and is therefore a lightweight cowl, perfect for those cooler spring or Autumn days.  You will need 400 metres of yarn, (approximately 100 grams).

I am always genuinely thrilled to see how my East  Beach Shawls look and to know that you are pleased with it. Also as a new, small business, getting seen and heard about is so important, so if you could help by sharing photos of your shawl, and maybe a review of the pattern too if you have time, that would be amazing! The best way to do this is by Facebook or Instagram.

Please find 'Mille Rêves en Laine' on Facebook or on Instagram to share photos with me: for example, your progress as you knit and/or your finished object. Remember to use @millerevesenlaine and/or #eastbeachshawl in the comments when you post.

If you don't use Either Facebook or Instagram, I'd love it if you emailed me your photos at millerevesenlaine@gmail.com
I will then share your photographs on my social media platforms, unless you ask me not to do so.
